The Week of Hard Knock Life Lessons- I'm Wiped!!!

Girl dramalicensing drama + child spring fever drama + the hoarse dog next door = an amazing recipe for EXHAUSTION and life lessons.
(Seriously, can't there be an easier way?)

GIRL DRAMA
I do not recall girl drama starting SOOO early.  Oh wait!  I vaguely remember 3rd grade....yep...it was indeed 3rd grade that girls started to get nasty.  I totally forgot and was completely shocked that my daughter was experiencing this.  For some weird dulusional moment it just seemed impossible that it was time for all of this.

I am so ill prepared and utterly annoyed by girl drama.  This is not my forte.  So it has been hard to help walk my daugher through this and help her realize that she does not have to sacrifice herself in any way.  Say what you mean, mean what you say, and own what you say
Get Your Own Bag... Tote get your own bag bitch tote
This bag is similiar to the bag that one of my patients had and I LOVE IT!  I believe that it depicts girl drama perfectly.  Why can't we all just get over it?

Needless to say, there have been countless lessons learned as I somehow relive my childhood and try to protect my daughter; knowing full well that I can't-and-really shouldn't as this is not going to be the last time she has to deal with it.  Let's face it....WE WOMEN ARE MEAN!  So it is just the beginning.  I hope that I can teach her lessons that will help her along this journey called life.

LICENSING DRAMA
I never realized just how difficult it could be to become licensed in this great state of ALASKA.  Boy was I wrong.  It has just been one hard knock after the other.  What an emotional rollercoaster it has been.  I believe that the ride is nearing an end (I hope) but fear it could just be beginning at the same time.  Overall, I pray that Karma, Divine Intervention, and Grace will all come together to help me become licensed to do my passion....DENTISTRY.  I miss it dearly and am finding myself counting the days until I can do it again.

SPRING FEVER
There is something about being cooped up all winter that makes people here CRAZY...really.  I have to say that people are getting nuttier by the day.  I think it is because we are in spring and the breakup has ended and now it is the meltdown so it is not quite warm enough, but warm enough.  I know it totally doesnt make sense, but we are all a bit stir crazy.  AND---It is light until about 9:30-10:00PM at night!  So everyone is adjusting to surviving on less sleep. (Still not sure that this is going to be a good thing.  I see a train wreck happening.  Several in fact.)  So it has been interesting as we ourselves adjust to sleeping with blackout curtains and program ourselves to FALL ASLEEP WITH SUNLIGHT.  It has been a challenge and I find that we are all getting headaches more often.  Sleep...bodies do need sleep.

THE HOARSE DOG NEXT DOOR
Our neighbors left for HAWAII...sigh...for two weeks...HEAVY SIGH.  They supposedly had someone "watching" their dog.  If you consider putting the dog outside at 10:00PM -12:00PM and allowing it to bark continually until the poor thing is hoarse watching your dog.  Nightly for two weeks I sent the hubs over there to quiet this dog down.  Other neighboors had come to our door complaining and asking us what the deal was when nobody would answer the door.  I was worried that someone would shoot the dog to get it to shut up!  (Okay, maybe the thought crossed my mind on the fourth night when the dog was completely hoarse and still barking the most horrible bark---continually.  I was just a bit frusterated, but knew that I was not the only neighbor with these same thoughts.)  Poor dog!  Yes indeed...it happened every single night for two hours if the hubs did not go over there to calm the skiddish thing down.

EXHAUSTION?...I am WIPED!  These last few weeks have been tough.  I have hated the hard knocks of life, but hope that they have made our family stronger.
