SCHOOL is OUT!

Both of the kids participated in CHOIR this year.  The excitement in the choir teacher here is contagious.  It is COOL to be in CHOIR like it was for me growing up.  Here are some snapshots of the kids singing in their final performances.

So this little girl on the front row with her hand to her chin.  She was HILARIOUS!  We were all in stitches at her animated face and actions.  What a silly girl.  The teacher is just as animated so clearly, he is rubbing off on her.  So fun to watch and giggle about.  And here is S in his last performance.

           Oh, you noticed?

Yes, there is only 2 boys in the whole choir.

I am so proud of S for not letting this stop him.

He realized that by being one of a few he became super popular with the girls.  Hilarious.

AND- He wants to do it again!

This is Dman true to form. This little guy does not go anywhere without his boots.  It makes us giggle and smile as well as others.  He has had a pair of black boots since the age of 2.  They are a size 8.  He wears a size 13 right now.  Somehow those black boots still seem to "fit"?  HE LOVES THEM-WHAT CAN I SAY?  When we moved here a friend gave us a pair of brown boots that her boys would not wear.  He still has not warmed up to them.  The black boots that are tattered and worn are still his favorite.  (They even have holes in the bottom of the heels that collect rocks.  We routinely have to pick the rocks out with a screwdriver.)  But on occasion, he will wear those brown boots that are a size 1.  He is just breaking them in but they aren't ready yet.

At the end of the school year they do a "Field Day" aka. PARTY DAY.  They have parent volunteers and teachers man stations like a carnival ALL DAY LONG.  They kids are free to roam about as they please.  BONKERS?!?...YES!  But the kids had SO much FUN.  The sixth graders painted the younger kids' faces.  What a great idea.  It is such a small community here.  We love it.

I never did find S that day.  He was off having WAY to much fun with his friends.  They even had a bouncy house for them.  And no, I did not volunteer.  Maybe next year?

THIRD GRADE PLAY!!!!!!
Sis also performed in her 3rd grade play.  She was a tree in the forest.  It was about forest animals that ate Hansel and Gretels Gingerbread house that they got from the Witch.  They still had a mortgage so they called in Bob Villa and THIS OLD HOUSE to help fix it.  The animals realized their mistake and apologized and Hansel and Gretel still have a house.  Lots of songs and dance.  It was great.  Sis was also the coffee girl to the producer of THIS OLD HOUSE.

The last week of school is always crazy especially after having a car totalled the weekend before.  We are glad it is over and looking forward to a busy and crazy summer around here.
