Best finds: SAGE FLY REEL 5 weight that we got for $15 and a FLY TYING VISE for $4.
D is and has been chomping at the bit to fish. We did the ice fishing thing BUT NOW the ice is melting away and the lakes and streams are open for fishing. The smelt will be moving to the ocean shortly and that will be prime fishing for rainbow trout in the lakes. I don't know if he just wanted to get out and play or if he truly wanted to practice his fly fishing skills. Nonetheless, he is a happy man being mister mountain/outdoors man. I love seeing his eyes flicker with excitement at the prospect of being outside fishing. So here is the ode to more fishing and many more returns of a happy husband and father.

The last one is of his first flies that he has tied. He also now belongs to the ALASKA FLY FISHERMAN CLUB. He meets with a group of men one Monday each month for different clinics to help you learn more about fishing in Alaska. I tease that it is a "Good ol' Boys club". He really enjoys it and has met many great people.
