School Days and Ways

School:  The kids started school on the 6th, but we did a mock/trial walk to school on Monday the 5th.  We needed to figure out how, where, and how long it would take.  We have to walk down our culdesac and down a path that leads to 108 stairs that lead down to the school playground.  The paths are icy, but the kids tromp down it like nothing.  I am the scaredy cat!

So on the first day of school we arrived early to meet the teachers.  Both kids were VERY NERVOUS AND ANXIOUS about this new school.  Will they make friends?  Will they like thier teachers?  Will they fit in?  We got them settled and then we said our goodbyes.  Dallin and I headed back up the stairs home to unpack.  All day I waited for a call but alas, it never came.  When we walked down to meet the kids both had SMILING FACES.  I think they are going to like this new school.  Best part is...NO DAILY HOMEWORK!!!!!

Halfway up the stairs.

At the base of the108 stairs leading up.
The school playground.  Yes it is dark every morning. Est. time 9:30am.

This is our icy path on our way home from school. About 10:00am.

So I have tried to load the amazing ice slides.  It has been so much fun watching these kids slide down these enormous ice slides (20+ yards long) on thier knees, bottoms and just about anything.  I love snow pants here.  They take the place of sleds. Don't be decieved...we use REAL sleds also!
