There Is Beauty All Around

I can't wait another day to post the amazing beauty that we are surrounded by.  I am totally dumbfounded on so many occasions at the shear beauty of God's creation.  I will be driving down the road and have to pull over and just gasp.  It is amazing!  And I am told that this is not the "most beautiful" time of year.  This is what everyone endures to get to the "most beautiful" time of year. (I know you like that...endures. Ha Ha! That is what they really say to me.)  So below are just some of those breath-taking moments that pictures can hardly do justice.  Perhaps if I were more savvy with the camera it would be more wonderful.  Hope you get the gist of what I experience daily.

This is utterly beautiful.  The trees are all iced over
from a rain/wind storm.  These poor trees carrying
so much weight.  AMAZING to walk among.

This is on the walk to school to pick the kids up.
This is around 3:30pm.  Nearly sunset time.
I just love it!  I even caught one of the many bald eagles that
soar overhead.  People call them pigeons here.

This is the view the kiddos have from the school playground.  Seriously?  How can you not be amazed at the Lord's creation when looking at this daily?  I find myself constantly humming hymns of the beauty around me.  I just love it.  I feel surrounded by it everywhere.

This is a sunset?  At 3:45pm.  We are tucked into a valley so we do not see full sun.  We would have to go to Anchorage to really get a  good view of the sun.  The mountains that are on all three sides of us hide it from us.

Sometimes we get lucky and the sun peaks on the tops of the mountains that surround us.  Isn't it radiant?

While driving.  This is just south of the eagle river that runs near our home. Note the icy roads that we drive on without a hitch here.  I feel like a grandma...driving really slow on the right side of the lane.

And the most beautiful things that surround me daily....MY KIDDOS!  They are so much fun.  We have had a lot of fun exploring our new home.  We have had to stick together and find our bearings.  We have been forced to re-evaluate our relationships with one another.  It has been wonderful making Alaska our home (mingled with some stress of the adjustment)!  I am so grateful for all the beauty that is all around me.
