The Story Began....

How and why Alaska you ask?  Here is the (shortened) story of how and why?

We have felt like a change was needed, but nothing felt right.  In the beginning of October, we will call them THE FRIENDS, called and said there was an opening at his work.  The Hubs said he wanted to send his resume.  I agreed believing, I quote, "Like anything will happen."  Within two days we had a phone interview and the process beginning.  I still was in disbelief uncertain that Alaska was a place I wanted to call home.  SIDE NOTE....10 years ago I did say that if given the opportunity to live in Alaska I would  take it.... Within a week we were asked to come and visit this wonderful state for a week. Thanks to some AWESOME friends we were able to make that trip that would be the beginning of a monsterous adventure...a MOVE TO ALASKA was in order!

With great consideration and lots of prayer, we KNEW that this is where we were supposed to move our family.  There were countless blessings and circumstances surrounding this move that have intensified our conviction that THIS IS WHERE WE SHOULD BE AT THIS SPECIFIC TIME IN OUR LIVES.  Things came together easily and were were able to  accomplish all the requirements needed and necessary to make our move in the given time frame.  I have to say...We are the LUCKIEST people ever because we are blessed to be surrounded by amazing people called Friends.

~THANK YOU ~THANK YOU ~THANK YOU~
You know who you are!

In 5 (five!) cinco weeks we had made the transition from our Home in Colorado to our NEW Home in Alaska. We said our goodbyes...so much harder than realized...I sobbed in route to the airport.  We were homeless "Nomads" moving from house to house...thanks to gracious inn keepers. We checked 8 bags on the airplane and safely landed in Alaska after a full day of travel. THE FRIENDS are now neighbors (once again). Our home is being re-established.  Our routines re-designed.  Our lives re-created.

And the adventure continues....
