Dads Birthday was spent with our friends and a wonderful dinner, Lighted balloons, Cake, Ice Cream. So much fun. I even made him a cake. I know this sounds silly, but those of you that know me know that if it came down to making a cake or being put to death...I would die. I am absolutely terrible at making cakes. However, I did make a wonderful cake. Triple-layered even. Gnache on the top, chocolate cream on the bottom with buttercream frosting. Yes I am bragging.
Mom's Birthday
It seemed that everything that could have gone wrong did. I got yelled at first thing in the morning for cleaning my kids' rooms. They couldn't find anything!?! Hilarious to have your kids mad at you FOR cleaning thier rooms. I thought that if I cleaned thier rooms it was a guarentee that there would be no fights on MY special day.
Then we tried to go ice skating...can't find ice skates. We do have them...just can't locate them. After searching everywhere for about an hour with no luck we call our friends to borrow theirs. And guess what? They had our skates. So we walked to thier house and finally made it to the skating rink at the school. Dad had bought a cake for me. When we were unloading the skates and getting on boots the cake got smushed. We then went out to eat at a local joint...Shine's Sushi. The kids loved it. We had to place the cake outside the car to keep it cold. We put it under the car. Came home and ate my "beautiful" cake. (See picture below)
Birthday's....another year older and none the wiser. Bring it on!
