The Snow sculptures happen every year. You start with a block of packed snow in an 8x8 cube.
Then the entrants use spray paint or other means to mark where to make thier cuts to make the sculpture they want. Here are some that are still in progress.
Then the artists do some fine tuning for another day or so. Some finish them immediately but they have 48 hours to complete them. Boy is it cold out here. Hovering around a balmy 2 degrees and breezy. The boys stayed in the car and only Aubrey and I got out to see them.
Here are some that are mostly completed. And at the bottom is my favorite. I need to go back and see them all finished. Maybe tonight.
MY FAVORITE FROM 2 OF THE FOUR ANGLES. I JUST LOVED THIS ONE. SO ALASKAN!
I hope I can make it back to see them finished...but time is slipping away. Maybe during Spring Break if they are still there.
