Kids' Birthdays

So birthdays in our house involve a bit of an adventure for the kids.  It began several years ago when Grammy gave us treasure boxes with money in them.  And NOW....a scabenger hunt is needed EVERY birthday.  So here is how the day works.  You must start the day with Donuts.  And you must blow out your candles first thing in the morning.

Then the scavenger hunt begins.  You are given clues on each gift that will lead you to your next gift.  It is a riot to watch the kids race through the house trying to find the next gift.  Some of the hiding spots are the cars, tub and oven to name a few.

The Start that takes you through the house.  Car is a favorite...especially when locked!! ha ha ha

The Tub is my favorite!                                             The end to a great day!

Then dinner out with the family followed by cake and of course...candles again.  No I cheated...I bought her cake.

But our little social butterfly NEEDED a party also with her new friends.  So we had her three favorites over for some cookie making and fun.  We made gloves (something you always need here) and then took the girls to McDonalds for dinner.  What kid doesn't love Micky D's?

So the little guys birthday fell mid-week but still....Donuts in the morning and a scavenger hunt!  He was so excited to have the day center around him!!!

And then the scavenger commences...

Since you know my hiding places...Here are some of his treasures.

Then we were kindly greeted by our local friendly moose who wanted to join in the birthday celebrations.  We had to call Daddy at work and let him know all about that silly moose.

Then it was off to preschool followed by some delicious lunch at our local SUBWAY (His absolute favorite place...many times above McDonalds) and then to spend some money from grammy.

Just as we had returned home...there was a knock at the door.  The mailman brought a package...addressed to whom you ask?  You got it...PERFECT TIMING!  The fun kept coming.  It was his gift from Nana and Pop Pop.  After opening it, he replied,"This is the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!"
We still needed to have cake.

Then our neighbor invited the kids to go down to the school for some ice skating.  He was so kind to help all of the kids learn and try hockey.  So much fun.  The kids had a blast and now I need to buy some hockey sticks and pucks.

And now exhausted of birthdays we get a reprieve until June.  Thank goodness...I am exhausted.  BUT---This has been the best days.  I love BIRTHDAYS!  A day to celebrate the wonderful children that are called MINE.  Love them all tons.
